This chrysocolla specimen was cut and polished by hand in Yorkshire by lapidary artists who create gemstone cabochons from the rough, stone slab. It's then been set in fine silver onto a sterling silver base and adorned with flowers and leaves - each one carefully cut, stamped and formed by hand before being soldered into place.
The pendant has been oxidised which blackens the silver in all the recessed parts and shows shiny highlights when polished afterwards. A small section of silver tube is soldered onto the back to allow the chain to thread through before attaching the clasp. The rings that attach to the chain are soldered closed for added security.
The pendant measures 2.8cm at its widest and 2.6cm at its longest. The chain is 18 inches long.
