Sterling Silver Dark Green Seaham Sea Glass Stud Earrings No.1

Two dark green pieces of naturally wave tumbled sea glass have been set into fine silver (99.9% silver) and sterling silver (92.5% silver) to create these earrings.

Sterling silver earring posts have been soldered onto the reverse just slighly above centre so that they have a little more drop length. All stud earrings come supplied with large sterling silver butterfly backs for ease of wearing.

These glass nuggets were collected on the beaches at Seaham, Co Durham which is world renowned for its sea glass due to the Victorian bottleworks that were located along the coastline. Tonnes of reject glass bottles and 'end of day' large blobs of unusable glass were discarded with an awful lot ending up in the sea. The result, several decades later, are these wave tumbled glass pebbles.

Sizing

Sea glass measures approx 8mm x 8mm. Posts are 11mm (just under 1/2 inch) long.
